Micro Bead Hair Extensions

The old saying, you get what you pay for, holds true for hair extensions. There are many types of hair extensions. Our preferred in-salon method is Micro Links where small bunches of hair are added with your own hair and a small link bead is squeezed tight to hold them together. The hair extensions come in different thicknesses and lengths. Prices vary based on this and also quality.

Typically it takes 1 hour to add a pack of 100 to your hair. We charge $30 to apply each package. The pricing on the extensions are based on what you choose. You may either purchase them yourself, or let us find the best prices based on the quality of hair you are looking for.

Quality

There are 3 types of hair extensions when it comes to quality.

100% human hair: This hair is collected from hair that has been shed or from hairbrushes. When the hair is collected, the cuticles, (like scales of a fish) face different directions. This causes tangling and matting. To defeat this problem, the hair is dipped into an acid bath to strip the hair of it's cuticle and then dipped into a silicone coating to add shine and weight to the hair. This coating wears off after a few washings and becomes easy to tangle and matte after just weeks or months. Some stripped hair is labeled as Remy hair, or is a mixture of Remy and non-cuticle hair extensions, so cheaper is not better in this case. This hair is not able to tolerate color or chemical services and is not reusable if they are removed.

Remy Hair: This hair is more expensive, but has been collected from different donors that have usually cut a pony tail, so the cuticle is facing the same way. Only little processing is done to prepare the hair to sell. The cuticle is still intact, and the hair is in much better condition and may last 6 months to a year.

Virgin Hair: This type of hair extension is of best quality and is the most expensive and on the market. This hair has been collected from one donor and all cuticles face the same direction. Virgin hair does not undergo chemical alterations in preparation to sell. This type of extensions can last 1 -2 years with proper care and maintenance. They may also be reused after removal and do not tangle or matte.
